MODE MAGAZINE
I started MODE Magazine in 2022 because, even with a communications degree majoring in journalism, I realised there was no real space for the kind of cultural writing and creative expression I wanted to create.
The first issue exceeded expectations, featuring American musician Nahko Bear; exploring themes such as cancel culture and creative accountability. Issue two celebrated Colour; taking MODE to Wellington to speak with creative directors of The World of Wearable Art.
In 2024, MODE entered its Modern Medieval era; a conceptual issue blending modernity, medieval aesthetics with design and identity. I interviewed Korean rapper Moon; exploring her experience creating Black hip-hop music within Korea.
For this third issue, I produced creative photoshoots, designer collaborations, original artwork, writing and plans for a live fashion + arts event. However the event did not receive external funding after independently funding MODE since its inception, I made the considered decision to pause further production.
During this time, I chose to close the original MODE website, as the previous website platform no longer aligned with the values and principles that guide our work. As NOIR has been rebuilt, MODE is now being thoughtfully reimagined within NOIR World; allowing the magazine to live on in a way that feels cohesive, intentional and aligned with the creative ecosystem it was always meant to be part of.
I welcome collaborators, partners and funders who believe in the power of independent cultural storytelling.
creative campaigns
creative campaigns
Creative Campaigns within NOIR World are concept-led photo and video projects developed in close collaboration with models from the agency.
Each campaign begins as an idea shaped through storytelling, mood, styling and movement — and brought to life alongside photographers, stylists and, at times, designers whose work aligns with the vision.
As NOIR World continues to grow, I warmly welcome other creatives to get in touch; whether you’re a photographer, videographer or designer with an idea to explore, a concept you’d love to bring to life, or an interest in collaborating with models from the agency.
NOIR World is a space for shared creativity, connection and building beautiful work together.
NOIR RELOADED
NOIR Reloaded celebrates the relaunch of our new site and a creative introduction to the world we’re building. The shoot brings focus back to the backbone of NOIR The Agency which is our creatively diverse talent; wearing colours that showcase the new NOIR palette: burgundy, black, white and red.
Set in NOIR World’s imagined Metro District; the shoot is symbolic of movement, transition and direction. We’re on the platform before the journey: the moment you step in and feel everything shift. The momentum of new chapter. A world expanding outward.
NOIR Reloaded is a signal of where we're heading and an invitation to come with us.
There’s room at the table.
The NOIR Collective
The NOIR Collective is a growing community of creatives who want to shape, contribute to and collaborate within the wider world of NOIR. Open to content creators, stylists, designers, visual artists, photographers, videographers and anyone drawn to creative storytelling (excluding music), the Collective exists as a shared space for imagination, experimentation and community-driven projects.
Members of the NOIR Collective may be involved in editorial shoots, creative campaigns, exhibitions, visual challenges, world-building projects, events, or future NOIR World experiences. It is a space for people who want to create freely, contribute ideas, collaborate with agency talent, and be part of something that celebrates diversity, originality and artistic expression.
Anyone interested in joining the NOIR Collective is warmly invited to get in touch. From there, we can explore how your creativity, skills or vision might fit into upcoming projects and the evolving creative landscape of NOIR.
